Job Title: Social Media Coordinator

Position Purpose Reporting to the Manager of Social Media & Content, the Social Media Coordinator will be primarily responsible for the day-to-day content across the league’s social media platforms for USL Super League, W League, Academy and Super Y League. The Social Media Coordinator will also be a core part of the USL’s game-day social media coverage. This position will play a vital role in the digital department’s content strategy and ideation process. The ideal candidate must understand the culture of soccer and the role of social media in that landscape.
Duties and Responsibilities Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
- Managing the USL Super League, W League, Academy and Super Y League day-to-day social content
- Maintain the content calendars for USL Super League, W League, Academy and Super Y League
- Owning the voice of the various leagues across all social platforms
- Work closely with the Communications & Content Managers and Social Media & Content Manager to develop content calendars and social media strategy
- Provide live game coverage on weeknights and weekends in-season
- Engage and build relationships with fans, players, and teams on social
- Identify opportunities and trending topics where USL can join the social conversation
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or related field preferred
- Minimum 6 months of professional experience working on the front end of social media; experience creating/managing social media distribution networks
- Familiarity with social media management tools such as Tweetdeck, Facebook Business Manager, etc.
- Strong understanding of social media marketing
- Bilingual Spanish speaker a plus
- A strong knowledge and passion for soccer
- Experience managing successful social media campaigns
- Solid understanding of social media metrics and the ability to interpret data
- Must have the ability to work under constant deadline pressure and manage multiple projects
- Proficient in Microsoft programs, specifically Excel
- Must have exceptional traditional writing and grammatical skills
- Flexible schedule and ability to work unconventional hours including weekend and game nights
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with team members, executives, member clubs, and external partners
- Ability to work independently in a multi-faceted, fast, fluid, and deadline-driven environment
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic a must
- Ability to work as business needs require, which may include long days, evenings, weekends, occasional holidays, and travel
- Must have U.S. work authorization
