We are currently seeking a Special Events Coordinator to plan, promote and execute special events in Tampa. The Special Events Coordinator works with the Senior Director of Development to implement and achieve budgeted event goals. The qualified candidate must be highly organized and detail-oriented with excellent project and time management skills. You must have a proven ability to meet tight deadlines and communicate effectively with all levels of staff and management, as well as being a quick and productive multitasker. This position requires tremendous accuracy, excellent attention to detail, solid follow-up skills, and the ability to effectively prioritize and juggle multiple projects. Typical work schedule is daytime from Monday through Friday, but some evenings and/or weekend hours may be required.
What we value:
- Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; and one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in event planning (logistics)
- Experience soliciting businesses and individuals for sponsorship opportunities and donated auction items
- Due to the need to drive for the organization to pick up/deliver event materials, attend events and for other development needs, you must be at least 21 years old and have reliable transportation
- Excellent interpersonal and public relations skills; professional phone skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Significant attention to detail, superior organizational and writing skills and the ability to work quickly and efficiently.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, Adobe, Canva, and donor database software (Donor Perfect preferred)
- Detail-oriented self-starter who can efficiently handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
- Available for evening and weekend events and activities
