Qualifications: BA or BS degree preferred

The position requires three years experience, preferably in non-profit special events coordination, communications and/or fundraising. Additional talents should include strong public speaking experience, excellent writing and communications, social networking skills, and the ability to motivate a variety of professional staff, supporters of Tampa Bay Watch and energetic community volunteers. Computer experience should include Word and Excel. Experience with eTapestry or other fundraising software a plus. Familiarity with Florida coastal ecosystems helpful but not required. Personal volunteer activity will be considered along with work experience.

Hourly Pay: Based upon experience

Hours: 16-24 hours per week

Responsibilities:
The Special Events Coordinator is a member of the Development team and is primarily responsible for strategic expansion of the annual special events that are held by Tampa Bay Watch. The position requires a highly motivated, hardworking individual who can coordinate with a diverse group of professional staff and volunteers.
Special events include the Ed Alber Tarpon Rodeo, Evening for the Bay, Outback Fishing Tournament and a number of corporate, membership and other social events.
Coordinate special event committees and volunteers
Seek sponsors and donations for events
Manage events and participants
Advance sponsor recognition and benefits
Maintain donor records-generate special event reports
