Position Summary

The Specialist plays a critical role in supporting the success of the practice by providing a variety of project, administrative and operational management services to an internal or client engagement team. The successful candidate will thrive in a team environment, provide excellent customer service, possess a high degree of self-confidence and executive presence, exercise discretion and diplomacy in all interactions, have the ability to proactively anticipate and manage challenges, be a self-starter with strong abilities to manage multiple responsibilities and prioritize appropriately, work efficiently and remain flexible to changes in schedule and work hours. 

This role provides you the opportunity to sharpen your technical, analytical, and business skills while working as an integral part of a team committed to delivering exceptional service and solutions to Deloitte clients. 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Responsible for project management
  • Independently manage recurring projects utilizing internal technology to update/maintain client records, prepare reports, and complete trend analysis
  • Develop and prepare reports; perform in-depth data analysis; develop point of view and recommend course of action as needed to achieve goals
  • Lead the strategy and execution of initiatives for the project team and support high-profile projects important to business or client
  • Act as a centralized point of contact to organize and coordinate internal and external client meetings and events; navigating communication with multiple high-profile stakeholders
  • Deliver exceptional project-based support and customer service; adapt methods and behaviors to effectively engage and accommodate client styles, preferences, and unique needs
  • Act as a trusted business advisor to help advance, implement, and achieve client objectives and desired outcomes; use business and subject matter expertise to provide practical and relevant ideas and insights
  • Responsible and accountable for independently managing work and projects, demonstrating management and leadership abilities to maintain momentum and move work forward intuitively 
  • Produce superior work in a fast-paced environment, meeting deadlines and expectations for quality. Effectively negotiate deadlines when necessary and communicate changes to manage expectations
  • Have an expert understanding of Deloitte’s network of business support services in order to delegate work requests and partner with other national and local teams as appropriate to deliver work effectively
  • Accurately and proactively assess requirements for each project/request. Communicate effectively with requestors at all times, addressing questions or issues promptly and professionally
  • Develop and share new innovative solutions which can be applied as best practices; demonstrate forward-thinking and creative ideas to enhance the client experience and overall service delivery 
  • Effectively manage time and working hours to accommodate client requests and schedules; demonstrate exceptional judgment to adjust and flex hours, and address requests with a sense of urgency
  • Proactively foster positive and productive relationships with internal and external clients
  • Provide Outlook calendar support for the project team, including creating, updating, and rescheduling meeting invitations; responsible for identifying and resolving scheduling conflicts  
  • Conduct research, synthesize the data and produce requested deliverable
  • Demonstrate a subject matter expertise of Deloitte’s matrixed organization and brand standards in order to offer superior service and accurate guidance to customers
  • On a regular basis, manage sensitive and confidential information appropriately and with a high level of discretion
  • Travel as needed

To be considered for this role, a candidate must have the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred and a minimum of two years at Deloitte
  • Experience that demonstrates excellent customer service skills, strong communication and organizational skills, and the ability to work in a team environment
  • Superior technical skills, including the ability to learn and master a variety of internal custom business applications. Advanced Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Internet skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with knowledge of proper grammar, punctuation, and spelling

  • Superior organizational skills and proactive in anticipating business needs; able to identify and contribute to developing efficient process and workflow methods
  • Understands Deloitte’s business, and understands the implications and impact of his/her work within the business
  • Self-motivated. Able to work independently and collaborate as part of a team to achieve business goals 
  • Works independently with minimal or no direction. Able to determine best approach for new assignments or projects and delivers quality and timely results
  • Flexible and adaptable; able to lead ongoing change in tasks and environment
  • Detail-oriented and quality conscious. Dependable
  • Self-directed; self-motivated.  Assertive, confident and willing to take appropriate and proactive action to accomplish tasks 
  • Consistently demonstrates expert judgment/decision making. A critical and innovative thinker who is able to navigate gray areas, anticipate problems, formulate solutions and act accordingly
  • Eager to grow. Motivated to learn and develop new skills. Able to learn quickly and apply new skills
