CONSTRUCTION Project Manager

SPECIALTIES DIRECT, a leading subcontractor of Division 10 products for over 20 years in the Florida market. SDI has an exciting opportunity for an In-house Project Manager to plan, direct and coordinate the submittal and ordering process in our Clearwater, FL office.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Reviews contract documents including plans and specifications to clearly understand scope of work.
  • Reviews initial set up documents with Sales/Estimator to understand awarded scope of work.
  • Adjusts and finalizes setup documents to be utilized for project.
  • Conducts secondary review and approval of contracts to ensure accuracy with scope of work insurance requirements, exclusions, retainage and project specific requirements.
  • Prepares, submits and tracks product submittals for GC and Architect approval. Submittals must highlight any questions or clarifications for our scope and include lead times and work duration.
  • Read takeoff, prepare ITB estimates, change order quotes.
  • Collaborate with customers to discuss and resolve construction design issues.
  • Generate detailed and accurate proposals for contract changes.
  • Responsible for understanding construction schedule and manufacturer lead times to ensure scopes of work are properly sequenced and completed on time.
  • Persistent follow up of submittal, change order, field measurement, material ordering & tracking, construction installation and project closeout process.
  • Coordinate with Field Operations for field measurements to ensure accurate and on time order of materials.
  • Release orders for fabrication after submittal approval, field measurements are complete and any accounting holds are cleared.
  • Maintain flow of communication throughout project to turn over to Installation Manager
  • Works with field operations department to quickly resolve issues in the field.
  • Works with Accounting to proactively manage project budgets/profitability, change orders and monthly progress billings.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Minimum 1 year experience in the construction / Architectural industry.
  • Minimum 2 years experience in Project Management and coordination.
  • Proficiency in reading and understanding architectural plans, specifications and takeoffs
  • Knowledge of ADA and Building Codes is a plus
  • Procore Experience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 – $75,000.00 per year
