POSITION SUMMARY

The Specialty Leasing Associate is responsible for managing aspects of non-traditional revenue for a specific region of SITE Centers domestic portfolio, creating special revenue reports, preparing and managing internal reports, and assisting with lease assignments. This position negotiates new temporary license agreements, renewals and amendments for the region and continuously monitors existing and potential non-traditional revenue programs.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

1. Negotiates temporary license agreements for properties in assigned region including new deals, renewals and amendments. Works with the leasing department, property management and other departments as required. Maintains and updates the system database by entering all information for approval
2. Identifies and participates in attracting potential temporary tenants by canvassing and cold calling
3. Represents SITE Centers interests in dealing with tenants/licensees/clients/vendors while maintaining the Company’s high standards of excellence in the operation, marketing and management of shopping centers
4. Participates in the development of financial goals for non-traditional revenue and works to achieve or exceed those goals. Analyzes and researches market trends and monitors competition to determine and establish appropriate pricing schedules
5. Prepares various monthly interdepartmental and intra-departmental management reports, including the Regional Property Manager Incentive Program update
6. Assists leasing with the completion of lease assignments
7. Participates in periodic meetings/conference calls with the Vice President of Ancillary Income to ensure cross-communication of innovative ancillary revenue special project initiatives
8. Participates in on-site internal meetings to disseminate status update information and new project information to all affected local employees to ensure smooth operational coordination of tenants/licensees/sponsors/clients
9. Maintains professional and technical industry knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications and establishing personal networks

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

 

Education, Training and/or Experience

 

Bachelor’s degree in business administration with one plus years of experience working with commercial leases.

 

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Personal Characteristics

 

1. Superior oral and written communication skills with an ability to communicate easily with co-workers within all departments
2. Ability to organize work, engage in a variety of tasks simultaneously and meet established deadlines
3. Ability to perform duties independently with minimal supervision
4. Ability to write clear and concise reports, business correspondence, and some simple legal documents
5. Computer skills: spreadsheet design, word processing software capabilities and applicable use of the Internet
6. Superior budgeting and accounting skills
7. Effective leadership, negotiating, networking, organizational and interpersonal skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Real estate background with experience in commercial leasing and negotiations a plus.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Nature of work requires an ability to effectively communicate and exchange information, collect, compile and prepare work documents, and operate standard business office equipment.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work performed in a general office environment. May require extended hours during peak periods. Ability to travel by automobile and/or airplane to leased properties up to 50% of the time. Overnight travel required.
