ICP Group is looking to hire a Senior Accountant to join our team in Tampa, FL which supports the manufacturing of roofing systems in the US, Canada and Puerto Rico. This is a great opportunity to learn a new business, the manufacturing processes and gain exposure to international activity in a close-knit setting. The Senior Accountant will be empowered to gain experience and knowledge of the business and create opportunities for improvement. The Senior Accountant will work closely with the Business Unit Controller and work across departments to provide consistent and accurate financial results. Daily responsibilities include investigating issues, implementing new processes, proposing correcting journal entries, reconciling account balances, maintaining general ledger, and preparing month-end close reports. This position has the opportunity to allow for a hybrid work schedule including in-office and remote workdays.
In this role you will be responsible for the following:
- Managing most aspects of daily general ledger transactions and preparing monthly financial package.
- Producing monthly journal entries, accruals, balancing reports, account analysis, reconciliations, and general ledger work.
- Preparing monthly, quarterly, and year-end analysis
- Assisting with the preparation and monitoring of budgets.
- Assisting with annual audit work.
- Preparing and reconciling information needed to file sales, property, and income tax returns.
- Work across departments as needed to resolve issues, and prepare analysis.
- Providing timely, accurate and meaningful insight with respect to the financial performance of the company.
- Contributing to the development of new or amended accounting systems programs, and procedures.
- Provide guidance and assistance to junior accountants.
- Performing other accounting duties and supporting colleagues as required or assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree with major in accounting.
- 5 years accounting experience.
- CPA is a plus.
- Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures.
- Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Familiarity with creating financial statements.
- Ability to perform flux analysis and identify trends or root cause.
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
- Customer service attitude with users of financial information.
- Advanced MS Excel skills including VLookups and pivot tables.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, and Outlook.
- Experience in Syspro, FloQast or OneStream a plus. Ability to learn new ERP Systems.
