We are on the hunt for a Sr. Accountant to join our team in St. Petersburg, Florida. The main function of this role will be to enhance and streamline our chart of accounts and manage franchise owner allocations. The role offers a short term contract employment opportunity within our organization.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and streamline the organization’s chart of accounts to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Manage and allocate franchise owner amounts to maintain financial transparency and minimize discrepancies.
- Conduct regular account reconciliations, including balance sheet and bank reconciliations, to ensure financial accuracy.
- Oversee the general ledger, ensuring all entries are accurate and up-to-date.
- Prepare and record detailed journal entries as part of the financial reporting process.
- Utilize Microsoft Excel to create detailed financial reports and analysis.
- Participate in the month-end close process, ensuring all financial data is recorded accurately and on time.
- Utilize financial software such as NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP to streamline accounting processes and enhance efficiency.
- Collaborate with the accounting team and other departments to ensure all financial operations are running smoothly.
- Must possess proficiency in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations.
- Should have a strong understanding of General Ledger and Journal Entries management.
- Expertise in Microsoft Excel is essential for this role.
- Prior experience with Month End Close procedures is required.
- Familiarity with NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP software is a necessity.
- Ideal candidate should have strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.
- Must have a keen attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in all tasks.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field is required.
- Professional certification such as CPA or CMA is preferred.
- Proven experience in a similar senior accounting role is necessary.
- Should have the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated knowledge of applicable laws, codes and regulations is required.
- Must have the capacity to work independently as well as part of a team.
