Full Job Description
Analysts is looking for sharp candidates for s DIRECT HIRE – Sr. Cost Accountant role with a great client of ours in Tampa, FL. This is a hybrid position – 2 days remote, 3 days onsite.
Job Description:
- General Ledger journal entries/monthly reconciliations for job costing accounts
- Good presentation skills
- Analysis of integration jobs – scrutinizing costs to complete, overbudget, etc.
- Liaison between offices. Responsible for training and helping the offices
- Financial reporting
- Actual cost vs Standard cost analysis
- Assist with external audit process as necessary
- Maintain adequate documentation and support for financial records
- Upload payroll labor cost
- Recommend changes to the company’s processes and policies to reduce cost and maximize profit
- Advise executives and upper management on appropriate costing based on financial data
- Set-up, coordinate, and evaluate Job Cost meeting with Operations Team.
- Other duties as assigned
Required skills and qualities include:
- Bachelors degree or higher degree in accounting
- Intermediate level knowledge of accounting and US GAAP
- Advanced in Microsoft Excel
- 4+ years of experience for the Sr. Cost Accountant role
- Construction accounting a plus for the senior role, tracking cost vs budget, labor billing, progress billing, analyzing projects for profitability
- Self-starter with the ability to multi-task and perform duties independently with minimal supervision
- Detail oriented, organized, and able to meet assigned deadlines
- Team player with good interpersonal skills, able to work collaboratively with all levels of employees, results oriented with a positive attitude
- Excellent communication skills
