The Sr. Manager/Director of Human Resources, a key and transformational role, supports the organization by serving as the people champion of the senior leadership team through highly developed human resource capacities. The Sr. Manager/Director of HR creates the environment, processes and tools, and policies and procedures that are efficient and effective in attracting, developing and retaining top talent who are competent and devoted to supporting and improving the business goals and strategy. Responsibilities:
Strategic Duties and Responsibilities
- Supports organizational success through strategic workforce planning in alignment with the company’s strategic plans, embracing applicants and employees of all backgrounds, and ensuring the automation of as many functions as possible related to the processes of recruiting, hiring and onboarding.
- Supports highly effective leadership, management and supervisory skills through leadership development, coaching and mentoring.
- Creates a culture of learning, competency, accountability, engagement and stability through the development and ongoing support of a performance management program that managers and employees use and appreciate.
- Provides an open, supportive and informative communications environment from the macro-level (social media, newsletters, etc.) to the individual level, allowing for employees to safely and privately discuss problems and issues.
- Performs other such duties as may be assigned by the CEO.
Tactical Duties and Responsibilities
- Drives human resources functions and initiatives by communicating and administering company policies and procedures in a positive and consistent manner that supports the organization’s culture.
- Partners with leadership to create a long-range compensation, benefit strategy and career paths that will make the company more competitive with other organizations doing similar work.
- Builds and executes staffing strategies and plans to identify talent within and outside the organization and manages the hiring and onboarding process of new talent to the organization.
- Manages and resolves employee relations issues providing consultation and mediation to management and staff with regard to employee relations matters and recommends appropriate action and resolution as necessary.
- Ensures compliance levels related to all HR policies, programs, and State/Federal statutes/regulations are accurate and maintained.
- Manages the payroll function through coordinated efforts with the accounting department.
- Responds to legal actions related to human resources issues and coordinate with legal as needed.
- Ensures a safe work environment and manages worker’s compensation processes and procedures.
- Maintains HR information systems and recommends technologies that enable and support efficiency and accuracy.
- Performs other such duties as may be assigned by the CEO.

Qualifications:
- B.A. required. Human Resources or Business related Master’s degree preferred.
- SPHR or PHR strongly desired.
- 7+ years experience in an HR capacity with increasing responsibility to include strategic planning and partnering.
- Expert general knowledge of Federal, State and local employment and wage laws and regulations.
- Experience with ADP payroll (preferred), benefits and broad organizational development.
- Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in standard business applications included in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Outstanding interpersonal, coaching and listening skills with the ability to communicate positively within all levels of the organization.
- Proven ability to develop strong, trusting relationships within department and organization.
- Ability to work on various projects simultaneously, requiring strong organizational and time management skills.

Physical Demands/Working Conditions
Physical Requirement: Must have ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs. Employee must be at to sit, climb or balance, hear, use hands, taste/smell, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, stand, walk, talk, and reach with hands and arms.
Working Conditions: Duties are performed primarily in an office setting. Operates computer and standard office equipment such as telephone and copier/printer.
