This position is located in the New York office in NY. Your standard hours will be determined.
Relocation is available in accordance with the firm’s policy.
Paralegals are a critical part of DLA Piper’s client service teams, working side by side with lawyers, co-counsel and clients on an array of substantive client matters. The majority of our paralegals are career professionals. They work independently and on teams, locally, nationally and globally.
The paralegal team itself includes Case Assistants, Paralegals, Senior Paralegals and Paralegal Specialists. Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree and/or Paralegal Certificate
- 8 years’ experience as a paralegal supporting a Commercial Real Estate practice group in a law firm environment
- Title and survey experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and attention to detail
Preferred Requirements:
- Strong skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Large firm experience
What will your day look like?
You will assist in drafting real estate documents, preparing closing documents, conducting due diligence reviews and coordinating closings as required for commercial real estate transactions. This will include ordering, reviewing and analyzing title commitments, recorded documents and surveys. You will develop, monitor and update closing, and other checklists, for real estate transactions.
You will also assist with drafting documents for commercial, resort and mixed use developments, as well as draft lease amendments for attorney review. This will require forming L.L.C.s, partnerships and drafting organizational documents, authority certificates and resolutions. All reporting and research will be delivered to the appropriate parties’, counsel, lenders, governmental agencies, vendors, etc.
