Sr Staff Appraiser – PennyMac (Tampa)

The Senior Staff Review Appraiser will be responsible for performing desk review analysis on the property valuation products ordered by PNMAC for its business transactions.  The Senor Staff Appraiser will also handle reviews on the most complex assignments, handle special projects related to property valuation as requested, and provide leadership and guidance to other members of the Property Valuation Team and will handle some of the duties of the Director of Property Valuation in their absence.

• Perform desk review of property valuation products and  provide in writing any concerns with the credibility of the valuation report in question
• Work with appraisal management companies to ensure PNMAC is receiving/utilizing credible valuation products for associated business transactions
• Provide guidance/support  to other staff members regarding property valuation strategies and processes
• Meet all service levels pertaining to the property valuation strategies
• Meet all service levels pertaining to the property valuation process
• Keep management apprised of any concerns or opportunities regarding the performance of an appraiser, the appraisal management company or any part of the property valuation process
• Complete miscellaneous duties as they are assigned
• Perform other related duties as required and assigned
• Quickly and positively adapt to any changing business process
• Demonstrate behaviors which are aligned with the organization’s desired culture and values

Skills & Abilities:

• Bachelor’s Degree with 7+ yrs experience
• Current certification to perform residential appraisals
• Prior field experience performing residential property appraisals
• Functional understanding of USPAP regulations
• Functional knowledge of Home Valuation Code of Conduct requirements
• Must be highly proficient in Excel and Word
• Must be a team player with strong attention to detail and able to work independently
• Proven track record at delivering timely and accurate information in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent critical thinking, problem solving, mathematical skills and sound judgment
• Financial Services and, if possible,  mortgage industry experience preferred
• Strong business acumen and ability to interface with executive management
