We are looking for a staff accountant that will prepare month end in order to back up the current Business Analyst in Finance and once trained share in preparation. Preparation includes the build process, analyze data errors, reconcile to database, agent statement and batches then close the month end. This position also includes reporting of surplus lines to applicable states and assistance with state audits.
This is intended to be a direct hire opportunity and compensation will be based on experience.
ACCOUNTABILITIES/JOB DUTIES:
- Build Month end process and balances all premium and non -premium, loss files
- Analyze data errors and edits
- Reconcile company month end files to database
- Reconcile agent statements and batches
- Close month end for all companies timely to ensure compliance with B&B corporate reporting
- Send Balance Due letters to agents
- Report surplus lines taxes to applicable states
- Monitor cash suspense to ensure E&S policy issuance
- Report and monitor company exceptions
- Performing database analysis including query skills, table updates/maintenance, and perform data corrections.
- Assist with state audits
REQUIREMENTS:
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Ability to work across all levels of employees within the organization
- Ability to multitask and work on various projects at once
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting preferred
- Previous experience in a Finance/Accounting department
