Job Summary:

The Staff Accountant will perform a variety of general accounting duties and support the finance team by maintaining financial records, preparing reports, reconciling accounts, and assisting with audits. This role is crucial in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial data and processes within the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • General Ledger Maintenance:
  • Prepare and enter journal entries accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain, update, and reconcile general ledger accounts monthly.
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.
  • Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable:
  • Process and verify invoices, ensuring accurate coding and timely payments.
  • Manage customer invoicing and follow up on outstanding accounts receivable.
  • Resolve discrepancies in billing and payment issues with customers and vendors.
  • Reconciliations:
  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and other accounts monthly.
  • Review and reconcile discrepancies to ensure accounts balance.
  • Financial Reporting:
  • Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
  • Assist in preparing financial reports and budget comparisons for management.
  • Audit Support:
  • Compile necessary documentation and support data for internal and external audits.
  • Assist with year-end audit and regulatory reporting.
  • Compliance:
  • Ensure all financial transactions comply with organizational policies and relevant regulations.
  • Maintain compliance with GAAP standards and other applicable guidelines.
  • Special Projects and Continuous Improvement:
  • Participate in special projects, such as system implementations or process improvements.
  • Identify areas for improvement in financial reporting processes and support implementation of best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
  • Experience: 1-3 years of experience in accounting or related field (internship experience considered).
  • Skills:
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or NetSuite).
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.).
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong analytical skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Certifications: CPA or CPA eligibility is a plus but not required.

  • Standard office environment with occasional extended hours during peak financial periods.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and independently.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 – $60,000.00 per year
