Description
There’s currently a long-term temporary to hire position available for an experienced Staff Accountant with Accountemps. The Staff Accountant is responsible for preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. You will have responsibility for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. In addition, you will support the development and implementation of accounting policies. In addition, you will participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. This position is very involved as it will produce Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Responsibilities
- Organize capital lease and monthly payment schedules
- Maintain intricate journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
- Be a part of various initiatives spanning multiple departments
- Perform month end close, journal entries with minimum supervision
- Keep up fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
- Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested
- Assist in monthly financial close workbook preparation, including annual closing process
- Offer succinct analysis on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a clear and concise manner
- Oversee the creation of monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for reporting to management
- Assist in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Requirements
- Recent and relevant accounting experience
- BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
- Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
- Experience with ERP systems
- Mature organizational, written and verbal communication skills
- Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills
- Competent with spreadsheets and databases
- Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment
- Proficient with spreadsheets and databases
- Remarkable analytical, quantitative and social skills
- Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines
- Financial analysis experience highly desired
- Strong familiarity with bank reconciliations
- Account reconciliation experience
- Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Adeptness in financial statement preparation
- Foundational knowledge in financial reconciliation
- General familiarity with variance analysis
- Demonstrated knowledge of financial reporting
