Supervisor (Special Events/Sports Turf)  (21000027) 
Job Overview Incumbents in this classification performs the duties of the function and performs first line supervisory field work. 
Minimum Qualifications Graduation from High School or possession of a GED Certificate; AND Four (4) years of experience directly related to the position duties; OR An equivalent combination of education, training and experience that would reasonably be expected to provide the job-related competencies noted below.

Depending on assigned area of responsibility, incumbents in the position may perform one or more of the activities described below. Determines priorities, schedules and assigns work as required. Implements management decisions through the work of subordinate employees. Solves problems within the team related to work assignments. Provides hands-on advice and assistance on work processes, best practices and subject matter expertise to subordinates. Assists in the review and development of routine procedures to insure timely and accurate accomplishment of established operational goals. Supervises and trains assigned staff, evaluates performance and initiates corrective action as needed. Assesses staffing needs and assists in the recruitment of staff. Maintains required documentation and completes reports. Attends meetings as required. Participates in performing the actual work of the unit and substitutes for subordinates as needed. Performs other related duties as required.
Job Specifications Knowledge of the functions, services, procedures and regulations of the assigned functional unit. Skill in the application of supervisory techniques. Ability to interpret and explain laws, statutes, regulations and other directives. Ability to proof own work and that work of others. Ability to prioritize work of the team. Ability to prepare and maintain records and reports.
Physical Requirements While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, stand, sit and talk or hear. Occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.  The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Category Medium Work – Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
