POSITION: Supervisor Warehouse Distribution 10079314

 

Job Description
Responsible for ensuring the timely and efficient operation in the assigned areas of Receiving, Inventory, and Production. Maintains a complete understanding of all Receiving, Inventory and Production functions and awareness of how these departments impact customers, both internal & external. Responsibilities in the areas of hiring and performance management. Works with staff to complete departmental workload when necessary.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Responsible for ensuring the timely and efficient operation in assigned areas of Receiving, Inventory and Production. Maintains a complete understanding and awareness of how these departments operate and suggests process improvements to ensure efficiency. Partners with Distribution Manager to provide leadership, training and mentoring of DAs and leads. Maintains awareness and understanding of how these departments impact customers, both internal and external, and the departments overall impact on Company operations.

Supervises departments, including:
* Tracks daily, weekly, and monthly hour usage to ensure budget compliance.
* Monitoring of attendance.
* Ensures on-time completion and prompt documentation of employee training, as well as continual staff development and cross training.
* Protects inventory at all times from paperwork mistakes, theft and other types of shrinkage concerns.
* Assists with the hiring of new team members, conducting performance reviews, and the early stages of conflict resolution.
* Provides guidance to Leads and partners with them to:
* track KPIs and to identify and correct issues that cause inefficiencies in productivity and accuracy.
* monitor and troubleshoot problems to ensure proper resource allocation and consistent workflow.
* Maintains a clean and organized warehouse and ensures proper amount of Warehouse supplies are on hand.
* Works with staff to complete departmental workload, as necessary.
* Work with other Supervisors/leads to independently operate the Distribution Center in the Managers absence.
* Creates and updates work instructions, per OTs quality system.
* Open/close building, depending on split shift worked.
Responsible for maintaining a complete understanding of all Receiving, Inventory and Production functions, computer screens and reporting.

Participates in special projects and performs other duties as required.

In addition to the essential duties and responsibilities listed above, all positions are also responsible for:
* Meeting company standards pertaining to quantity and quality of work performed on an ongoing basis, performing all work related tasks in a manner that is in compliance with all Company policies and procedures including WorldWide Business Standards.
* Adhering to Company policies, procedures, and directives regarding standards of workplace behavior in completing job duties and assignments.
Physical Activities:

This position will be working in a warehouse environment, utilizing typical warehouse equipment. Ability to grasp, bend, stand, reach above shoulder height, and walk extensively throughout the warehouse. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds alone and occasionally lift / maneuver / slide boxes weighing up to 75 pounds with assistance. May encounter various environmental conditions such as hot and cool temperatures, hazardous items, noise, and dust. May also be necessary to use step ladders to perform tasks involving climbing and reaching. Must be able to stand while operating equipment bearing full weight on both feet.

EXPERIENCE:

Four years warehousing experience required, including at least one year in a lead or supervisory role.

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

General warehouse knowledge and strong understanding of Distribution Center receiving, inventory, and production functions. Intermediate PC skills, including Excel, Word and use of ERP software. Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills. Ability to pass machine driver safety training for all required equipment. International shipping experience preferred. Customer service both within the company and outside the company is required. Knowledge of UPS, AIRBORNE, FEDERAL EXPRESS and other carriers required. Familiarity with ISO 13485 certification is a plus.

OTHER:

Four year college degree preferred but can be offset by team lead or supervisory experience in a distribution center environment.
