The Supervisory Vocational Rehabilitation Specialist is directly responsible for oversight, management, and supervision of the Vocational Rehabilitation section of the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Service, and its CARF Accredited Programs, within the James A. Haley Veterans’ Hospital. The Supervisory Vocational Rehabilitation Specialist will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties:
- • Exercises technical authority and supervision for the Vocation Rehabilitation Specialists, and the programs which encompass Veteran vocational testing and educational counseling, and case management.
- • Directs the physical and psychosocial rehabilitation of individuals with multiple and severe disabilities.
- • Leads the facility’s Vocational Rehab Specialists to clinically evaluate, test, and case manage the Veterans or Active Duty Service Members for goal setting considering the impact of disability on employment.
- • Directs Vocational Rehab for Veterans’ benefits and eligibility agency wide.
- • Manages and oversees the Vocational Rehab Program and its staff members, and plans the work to be accomplished.
- • Establishes guidelines and performance standards for staff, and observes performance of staff members.
- • Responsible for and accountable for all planning, developing, organizing, and operating a comprehensive CARF (Commission for the Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities) Accredited Vocational Rehab Program.
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
