Position:
As an integral part of our client’s long term strategy to grow their portfolio in the southeast market, the newly created position of Senior Vice President, Southeast will be responsible for the direct sourcing of lending transactions with a focus on the above mentioned loan structures and property/collateral property types.  With a Commitment to being closer to their customers in the Southeast, the Senior Vice President will be charged with developing relationships with borrowers and brokers in support of generating new/refinance transactions that conform to our client’s on-going and evolving strategy.

Reporting to the Executive Vice President, the Senior Vice President will be responsible for effectively directing and managing all aspects of the originations process.  With the support of a multi-functional team of professionals the Senior Vice President will be accountable for overseeing underwriting, due diligence, packaging, presentation/approval and closing with the purpose of meeting loan quality objectives.

Our Client, founded in 1977 and headquartered in Minneapolis, MN, is a full service investment bank and brokerage firm that offers a wide variety of innovative financial products and services to individuals and institutions nationally. Their Funding affiliate offers a broad range of commercial finance solutions specifically to developers and corporations nationwide. They accomplish through serving as a lead lender and fund each financing by selling participations to an extensive network of banks and institutional lenders. Their deep relationships provide a source of debt funding for creditworthy clients whose financial needs may not be well suited for the national syndicate loan market.

Typical loan structures include land acquisition and construction, mini-perm, renovations, term, bridge and resource and non-recourse debt with loan amounts typically averaging in the $2mm-$30mm range. Property/collateral types include health care, hospitality, industrial, land development, mix-used, office, multi-family, retail, warehouse, mineral right leases and special purpose properties.

Requirements:
The ideal candidate for the position of Senior Vice President, Southeast will have a minimum of seven to ten years of related experience with a large commercial bank, credit company, insurance company or pension fund. The candidate must be an accomplished finance professional and will be expected to have established and extensive contacts with prospective borrowers and brokers in Florida and in other major southeast markets.  Strong credit, business development, loan structuring and relationship management skills are required and the demonstrated ability to meet and exceed new business objectives is essential.

This is an entrepreneurial, not institutional position with a very dynamic and aggressive company.  The candidate must be a self-starter and highly motivated who can work independently and is capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment where potential investments are extensively challenged, debated and quickly decided.

The background required includes a strong academic record; a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree, an advanced degree preferred, in areas such as finance, accounting, mathematics, economics, real estate or statistics; a strong analytical and quantitative background, high level of initiative, committed and independent work ethic, developed and practiced high attention to detail, strong financial and writing skills, a willingness to travel, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment.

This includes a servicing team that monitors all loan covenants and performs payment processing, collections and communications throughout the life of the transactions along with personalized customer service.
