Responsibilities
Global Functions Technology (GFT) is a diverse organization in Citi, comprised of more than 15,000 talented professionals with some of the brightest minds – all working together to realize Citi’s Vision of growth and economic progress. As a group, we partner with the Finance, Risk, Compliance, and Human Resources teams to drive the delivery of innovative technology solutions using common data, analytics, and platforms. Our technology operates in real-time environments, capturing and managing market, transaction, and accounting data, as well as the data from millions of customers daily. Our solutions cover all products and geographies in which Citi does business. We are the backbone for reporting across the bank, satisfying our regulatory commitments, enabling our businesses to be nimbler and helping to safeguard customer assets through highly effective controls.
The IT Project Sr Tech Lead is a strategic professional who closely follows latest trends in own field and adapts them for application within own job and the business. Typically, a small number of people within the business that provide the same level of expertise. Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers. Accountable for significant direct business results or authoritative advice regarding the operations of the business. Necessitates a degree of responsibility over technical strategy. Primarily affects a sub-function. Responsible for handling staff management issues, including resource management and allocation of work within the team/project.
Responsibilities:
• Provides IT strategic direction for projects managed including developing detailed IT work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans and status reports.
• Exercises influence over team budget, policy formulation and planning.
• Has significant business impact through in-depth evaluation of complex business processes, system processes and industry standards.
• Provides expertise in projects managed and demonstrates an advanced level of understanding of the principles of IT project leadership.
• Possesses an understanding of client core business functions.
• Directly impacts the business through contribution to technical direction and strategic decisions for IT Project Leadership.
• Influences and negotiates with senior leaders (across functions); may communicate with external parties.
• Utilizes comprehensive knowledge of multiple areas within technology to achieve technology objectives.
• Responsible for resource management and allocation of work; acts as advisor or coach to new or lower level analysts.
• Provides in-depth and sophisticated analysis with interpretive thinking to define problems and develop innovative solutions.
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm’s reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications:
• 10+ years experience in a related technology role or program management of large global work efforts, primarily in financial services
• Ability to identify issues and manage them with appropriate risk management process.
• Manage program scope by assessing requirements changes, determining and conveying impact on budget, time and risk.
• Proficient in MS Office applications, MS Project, VISIO, Adobe Acrobat Professional.
• Experience in interaction at Board/Executive management level of businesses
• Demonstrates capacity to work in highly pressured & volatile environments.
• Should demonstrate a commitment to quality and attention to detail
• Excellent interpersonal relationships with ability to influence and negotiate with stakeholders across technology and business areas
• Critical thinking and problem solving skills
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• PMP/ Agile certifications preferred.
Education:
• Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience, potentially Masters degree
