This position is responsible for reviewing title commitments and identifying any and all issues which will prevent insurable title. The Title Curative Specialist also clears any and all defects in title.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review title commitments and identify issues.
  • Due diligence and fact finding with client, prior servicer and/or foreclosure attorney as needed.
  • Obtain various documents from client, escrow/title and/or foreclosure attorney.
  • Communicate with any and all parties necessary to clear defect in title.
Job Specifications 

Knowledge: 

  • Strong knowledge of foreclosure process and other legal matters as it relates to real estate.
  • Strong knowledge of title issues and problem resolution of these issues.

Skills and Abilities: 

  • Read and understand real estate contracts/purchase agreements.
  • Read and understand all closing/lender documents, including HUD 1 settlement statements and deeds.
  • Ability to negotiate reduction in fees as needed.
  • Proficiency in Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • High ethical standards.
  • Motivated, positive, team player.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to problem solve in a growing and expanding business.

Prior Work Experience 

Technical: 3 – 5 years

Education and Credentials 

Required: HS Diploma/GED
Preferred: Associate/Technical Degree
