A creative story teller who can lead the development of operating instructions, how-to manuals and “frequently asked questions” across a range of mediums to help technical support staff and consumers of our cloud based supply chain applications and use cases to understand and optimize their use. You will have a proven track record of delivering content using interactive web based technologies to blend text, graphics, multidimensional images, sound and video using an agile methodology. You are comfortable exploring early concepts and ideas and dealing with ambiguity. You thrive in a fast paced environment with tight deadlines and can easily change tracks based on product needs and current priorities. As a key member of the product development team you will have the capacity to gather usability information and make recommendations about improving the user experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Determine the needs of end users of technical documentation
Study application specifications and samples and collaborate with product designers, developers and supply chain practitioners with a view to organizing, writing and deploying supporting application documentation
Work with technical staff to make applications easier to use and simplify documentation steps
Select appropriate medium for required message or audience, such as manuals or online videos and use photographs, drawings, diagrams, animation, and charts that increase users understanding
Standardize content across platforms and media
Knowledge Requirements
Strong understanding of enterprise cloud based SaaS offerings and how to effectively create and communicate technical documentation for consumption by potentially non-technical consumers
A strong focus on attention to detail and precision to remove any potential ambiguity from instructions or documentation steps
An ability to put yourself in the mind of the user and imagine the potential challenges they might experience
A proven ability to effectively collaborate with a wide range of people representing various business and IT functions
A proven history of successful communication of technical concepts and excellent writing skills
Experience with supply chain functions a huge plus but not essential
Education and Experience Requirements
5-7 years of experience specifically related to technical writing and content creation for software offerings
Bachelor’s degree minimum in journalism, English, communication or related IT discipline
Web design experience an advantage.
