The Accountant II maintains financial records and ensures that financial transactions are properly recorded. In this role, the Accountant will be responsible for processing all payments, expenditures, and payroll, preparing the balance sheet, and other financial reports.
Specific Job Duties Include:
- Daily accounting operations surrounding cash, purchasing, AP, and AR
- Ensure the monthly bank compliance activities are performed in a timely and accurate manner
- Reviews daily bank balances and prepares weekly cash flow summary and projections for review by Controller
- Coordinates with multiple departments to facilitate the purchases of supplies and equipment in accordance with Triage’s SOP
- Timely records and reconciles credit card transactions
- Tracks and Monitors Fixed Assets
- Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll using Paylocity
- Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations (prepaids, clearing accounts, payroll and benefits withheld, accrued expenses, long term liabilities, etc.)
- Participates in development and implementation of improvements in procedures and internal controlAssists Controller withpreparing budgets and supports forecasting activities
- Maintain financial security by following internal controls, verifying documentation, and requesting disbursements
- Audits departmental accounting data, identifies and corrects errors, identifies, and computes accruals
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required
- A minimum of two years’ experience as a Payroll Accountant, or in a similar role.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of accounting experience in a multi-state experience
- The ability to direct the entry and maintenance of accounting records to show receipts and expenditures
- Expert experience in preparing, analyzing, and interpreting accounting records, financial reports, and data processing services related to accounting
Technical Skills:
- Expert understanding of automated accounting systems required, QuickBooks a plus
- Knowledge of, and experienced with, GAAP (generally accepted accounting principles), accrual-based accounting
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office especially an expert in Excel and Word
- Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables
