Education & Experience Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Experience with and knowledge of plumbing techniques, fixtures, devices and piping
- Experience with and knowledge of irrigation devices and techniques
- Experience in handling and completing work orders in a timely manner
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs
Certifications or Licenses Requirements
- Current valid Florida driver’s license with acceptable driving history is required
Responsibilities
- Inspecting, maintaining and repairing all components of the roadway and property drainage system and structures
- Inspecting, maintaining and repairing all irrigation piping and devices
- Inspecting, maintaining and repairing all reclaimed water piping, structures, pumping and storage structures
- Inspecting, maintaining and repairing the gravity waste system from the buildings to the waste treatment plant
- Maintains and replaces all water meters
- All water shut offs and turn on for the residents
- Pressure washing sidewalks and other high profile areas as assigned
- Inspects, maintains and repairs all plumbing fixtures in the building’ laundry rooms, recreation centers and employees’ rest rooms in the various buildings
Working Conditions
- Regularly be exposed to outdoor weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. Work may require exposure to prolonged high noise levels.
- Occasionally be required to work efficiently and accurately in an atmosphere of frequent interruption, to be exposed to wet or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, explosives and vibration.
- Occasionally work in high precarious places such as the elevated levels both inside and outside of storage tanks.
- Work in confined spaces in compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) regulations.
Hazardous Exposure
May involve exposure to toxic chemicals, fumes, and particles, blood, body fluids, or tissues through contact with injured workers. Situations can be imagined or hypothesized under which anyone, anywhere, might encounter potential exposure to body fluids.
