The Vice President of Marketing and Communications is responsible for the strategic planning, development and implementation of all marketing, communications and research programs, both internal and external. This position serves as a key member of the management team and a liaison to department heads, overseeing critical support functions for core business areas, and acts as a primary spokesperson and public representative of the organization in ongoing interactions with investors, elected officials, media and economic development partners, as well as business and community leaders.

Primary Responsibilities:  Serves as member of the management group.  Supervises marketing, communications and research staff.  Develops and manages the annual marketing plan and budget.  Responsible for creative direction in the production of all print, digital and promotional marketing materials.  Oversees all marketing communication channels, with special attention to maximizing web traffic.  Serves as the primary media representative.  Manages economic development project announcements.  Provides support and direction for all organization events.  Directs community outreach efforts.  Manages vendors and contractors.

Requirements:  Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration or similar field.  Minimum of five (5) years of professional experience with progressive managerial responsibilities.  Demonstrated skills, knowledge and experience in the design and execution of marketing, communications and media relations programs.  Experience developing and managing budgets.  Demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others.  Ability to think strategically and plan ahead over a multi-year period.  Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to handle multiple projects at one time.  Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.  Superior creative thinking and problem solving skills.  Excellent time management and organizational skills.  Strong interpersonal relationship skills.
