Description Job Summary: Under general direction with a high level of autonomy, uses extensive knowledge and skills obtained through education and experience, to direct and oversee the management of a national real estate portfolio.  Responsible for strategic and operational issues including the strategic development of assets, portfolio planning and leasing relationships.  Maintains responsibility for the transaction and build-out of properties that are owned and leased by the organization.  Represents the organization in real estate matters including acquisitions, leasing, subleasing, property management, tax issues, facilities development, workspace solutions and disposition.   Leads the transaction, project, occupancy planning and finance team, implements business strategy and interfaces between brokers, buyers, sellers and vendors while supporting the acquisition, strategic planning and build-out of office space. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Improves and creates processes for better efficiency; provides written recommendations for improvement in each area as applicable.• Provides leadership to the Real Estate department to ensure consistent performance, portfolio optimization and the efficient handling of the organization’s real estate needs.• Leads the real estate team in branch strategy development including the identification of markets and the sites within the markets that advance the corporate strategy.• Interacts with regional Senior Vice Presidents to capitalize on existing real estate assets including relocations, expansions, renovations, closures and other decisions that require capital investment.• Manages the strategic occupancy planning of the Home Office campus while leading the project team in moves, adds and changes.• Manages the existing real estate portfolio including lease renewals and the optimization of occupancy costs.• Manages the network of local brokers responsible for site identification, demographic research, mapping and site tours. • Analyzes new site financials by preparing real estate pro formas for business review.• Leads the transaction team in preparing sites for tours by regional business teams.• Manages the project team in regards to design, construction and legal issues, ensuring that business development goals are met.• Performs human resource management activities, including interviewing and selecting staff; coaching and mentoring; and leading and evaluating the work of subordinate managers.• Prepares and presents operational budgets.• Balances conflicting resource and priority demands.• Ensures effective coordination occurs between Corporate Real Estate and management within other areas of the firm.• Identifies trends and implements corrective action as necessary.• Uses financial data and performance indicators to establish oversight and control mechanisms. • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Educational/Previous Experience Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance or related discipline and a minimum of ten (10) years leadership experience in a corporate environment with a focus on corporate real estate or corporate finance.~or~• An equivalent combination of education, experience and/or training.
