Responsibilities:  As part of the Global Risk Management (GRM) Leadership Team, this position will report to the Chief Risk Officer.  It is a global position with responsibility for establishing the vision, leadership and ownership of the global HSE platform or Safety Management System (SMS) to drive world class performance.  In addition, this position will collaborate and support the QHSE Global Leader to Global Corporate Services (GCS).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Successful candidate will display the leadership, vision and commitment to build and enhance the health, safety and environmental controls with CBRE as we strive to be world class.
  • Successful candidate will demonstrate active and visible engagement for HSE, making the case for safe work environments with business line leaders, the field force at all levels, with our clients and vendors.
  • Responsible for the design, approval and execution of a long term HSE strategy, which aligns with CBRE’s business goals.
  • Effectively directs and manages staff within a matrixed reporting environment.
  • Ensures the development and successful monitoring in quantitative and qualitative terms.
  • Effectuation and articulation of Safety Management Systems – leadership commitment, accountability, effective communication, auditing and performance metrics

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of experience in HSE related management functions, with related Fortune 500 experience in Real Estate, Property Management, Manufacturing, Construction Facility Management and/or Engineer Services industries is strongly preferred.
  • Prior experience and responsibility for programs and procedures outside the U.S.
  • Strong service management experience with excellent time management and prioritization abilities; proactive, engaging, and partnering work style.
  • Managerial ability to anticipate competing priorities and quickly identify and engage the appropriate resources necessary to affect accurate and meaningful solutions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills that feature the ability to foster 360° relationships and collaborate with functional leaders in a manner that will produce effective results.
  • Excellent verbal, written and public speaking communication and presentation skills.
  • Independent and action oriented with proven experience in designing and implementing HSE programs and procedures.
  • Uncompromising in the principals of HSE excellence, but promotes them through a fostering and mentoring approach that will teach and encourage others to understand and adopt those principals.
