Job Summary

The Director of Product Management Planning and Strategy is responsible for partnering with technology & business unit executives to provide thought leadership, strategic direction, and market analysis to guide growth and operational excellence. Works with Business & Technology leadership on developing strategies for targeted markets that identify the types of technology products and services to offer that create value for advisors, clients, and other stakeholders. Develops the initial requirement for new and revised solutions and technology products. The Director will communicate the strategy to senior management and secure the necessary commitments for development and launch. Provides leadership to an extended team of Product Management within PCG Technology.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead and support PCG Technology initiatives spanning growth strategy and operational excellence by directly scoping, initiating, planning, and controlling strategy projects.
  • Lead large, complex projects to achieve key business objectives, working across teams and business solutions groups as needed.
  • Deliver data-driven insights to support actionable strategic direction.
  • Provides product definitions in response to market opportunities.
  • Develops and maintains a prioritized list of customer and market requirements.
  • Lead, Conduct, and coordinate competitive analysis activities & materials comparing products, solutions, and services with its key competitors.
  • Keeps abreast of industry standards and knowledge with the ability to communicate with clients.
  • Serves as a market/solutions subject matter expert.
  • Works with various business & technology product areas and managers to ensure coordination of various communications, dependencies, and/or positioning.
  • Participates in planning, strategy, and production meetings.
  • Assist in leading strategic planning. Collaborates with other executives & works closely with department heads to ensure business objectives are met. Develop and implement strategic plans, setting organizational goals and priorities.
  • Works with the content team to develop consistent communication, reports, and effective marketing collateral.
  • Prepares and delivers written and oral presentations to senior management on project and program analysis, objectives, and progress.
  • Sets project requirements and ensures achievement of project goals and objectives within expected timeframes and budget.
  • Provides a proactive interface between project stakeholders and the senior management team to ensure complete and accurate definitions of business requirements and product delivery.
  • Collaborates with the management team in developing adoption, marketing, and awareness campaigns that are aligned with the organizational vision and growth strategies.
  • Assists in specifying detailed product requirements for current and future systems.
  • Manage, coach, and develop strategic organizational structure and goals.
  • Represents assigned functional area at meetings, as required.
  • Strategy & Project Management responsibilities as needed. Oversees and manages special projects assigned by the executive team to benefit the overall organization.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

  • Advanced concepts, practices, and procedures of business and product management.

  • Working with private client groups, operations, information technology, advisors, clients, and other business areas to capture requirements feedback and technology needs to help determine the strategic direction and roadmap.
  • Customizing and coordinating the dissemination of marketing and product communications.
  • Participates in market research, identifying market segments and specifying business requirements.
  • Operating standard office equipment and using required software applications to produce documents such as reports, graphics, electronic communication, spreadsheets, and databases.
  • Conducting investigations for proposed projects.

Education/Previous Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in communications or business-related field and/or minimum of ten (10) years of progressively responsible consulting experience in the financial services industry
