Job Title:  Warranty Administrator

Department:   Service
Reports to:   Service Manager

SUMMARY

Manage the warranty claim submittal and warranty recovery function for the dealership.  Ensure that all warranty costs attributable to OEM and Vendor product faults are fully recovered and accounted for.  This role requires leadership, problem-solving, negotiation and communication skills to effectively facilitate the identification of warrantable product problems and recovery of warranty costs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Coordinate efforts to recover warranty expenses from OEM and Vendors to meet dealership recovery targets.
  • Ensure that failed warranty material is returned to the OEM or vendors as required
  • Keep dealership management updated with recovery summary reports to track the performance of the warranty program at the dealership
  • Ensure that warranty claims are submitted on a timely basis and within guidelines established by Nextran management and the OEM
  • Ensure that warranty cores are handled with the dealership parts department on a regular basis
  • Manage the reconciliation of warranty recovery monies due and received by using current dealership reports and tools.

 

QUALIFICATIONS       

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven strength in problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Proven ability to meet daily, and weekly corporate targets
  • Ability to run a warranty department through the use of relationship building, goal setting
  • Proficiency in working with Excel, and Word
  • Mathematical accuracy and a basic familiarity with accounting principles.
  • Demonstrated experiences in customer communications, and customer satisfaction

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS BUT NOT REQUIRED

  • Heavy duty truck mechanic experience a plus
  • Strong technical understanding of diesel trucks and components
  • 5+ years’ experience in the heavy duty trucking industry, preferably in warranty
