Purpose and Objectives: Helps by implementing and maintaining programs that stay at the leading edge of the fitness industry. Members and guests must feel the program touches them in a personal way and allows them to enjoy recreation at peak levels. Provides outstanding service to members and their guests in a professional and courteous manner. Primarily responsible for the comfort of members and their guests while they are utilizing the pool.
Essential Position Functions:
- Provides outstanding service to our members and their guests in a professional and courteous manner.
- Assists in preparing monthly reports as needed.
- Assists in developing new and improved services to add to, modify, or replace existing services.
- Increase facility attendance by establishing accurate records of member and guest attendance.
- Helps maintain a uniform appointment schedule for the exercise staff.
- Sets and keeps appointments for personal training clients.
- Oversees the maintenance of all exercise equipment in the facility.
- Greets every member and guest that enters the pool area with a courtesy welcome while verbally offering all the amenities and services provided.
- Asks members for membership card to ensure non-members are not using the pool.
- Opens all umbrellas uniformly, neatly arranges all pool furniture, and sets out all pool floats, rafts, and other pool activity items.
- Cleans, on a daily basis, all pool furniture; including umbrellas, tables and chairs, chaise lounge chairs, small beverage tables, dining tables, and chairs.
- Offers large towels to all members in the pool desk area and uniformly places folded towels on foot of chair.
- Offers and explains to all members the procedure for service.
- Washes and neatly folds towels, as instructed. Keeps level supply of towels available at all times. If towel inventory becomes low, notifies a manager so that the appropriate action can be taken.
- Sweeps and washes the pool deck on a daily basis. Pressure cleaning will need to be done on a bi-weekly basis to keep the appearance up to standard.
- Thoroughly cleans the screen patio, desk area, wall, etc. on a daily basis. All should be wiped down and free of bugs and grime..
- Informs the Team when supply par levels are low. Completes proper requisitions for general supplies and the first aid kit.
- Checks towel hamper. Washes, dries, and folds towels as needed. Informs the Team if the towel par level is low.
- Keeps work area clean and neatly organized at all times.
- Empties trash containers on the pool deck throughout the day, as needed. The trash containers should be emptied prior to leaving at the end of each shift.
- Develop a rapport with the membership that puts them at ease with your skill and job duties. Anticipate the needs of members with repetitive requests.
- Uses proper telephone etiquette at all times.
- Before leaving at the end of each shift, make sure the pool deck is completely clean and stocked for members arriving after you depart.
Essential Job Requirements and Skills:
- Computer literate.
- Comprehensive knowledge of a variety of exercise protocols.
- Must frequently lift and move up to 60 pounds.
- Up-to-date knowledge of current aerobic programs, swimming programs and spa programs
- Prior experience in answering a multi-line telephone system.
- Ability to use logical or rational thinking to solve problems.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, including calculations involving fractions, decimals and percentages.
- Ability to provide effective written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to visually inspect food and beverage orders, read order form and ensure that orders comply with the customers’ request.
Education and Training:
- High School diploma
- Familiar with computer software, Word, Excel
- Fluent in English

- Attends exercise, fitness and health seminars to maintain current expertise with new and existing methods and equipment.
